We travel to all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico several times a year. Plus wintering in Florida I needed a dependable compact rod and reel kit.The rod and reel could be purchase separately but I needed a well produce travel package. Something durable yet light weight. The full zippered foam padded bag with a small assorted tackle box was perfect. The foam is cut out so the rod, reel and tackle box fit securely. There is still room for a pair of small needle nose pliers and some other basic tackle. I use the tubes from TP for top water plugs and shallow diving plug all for saltwater.The rod is fast enough for long casts and enough backbone to get the job done. Of course it's all about the reel and it's drag. Both smooth and silk in both directions. I used a poly smooth braided 12 lb test and could cast almost 1/2 the spoon. But still plenty left for the fight.Made a nice Snook Rod for Ft. Pierce, Fl as well as Barracuda in Jamaica. I know bragging bragging bragging where's the pictures.I was afraid to get too far from it's while swimming, things like that often grow legging.Any case I definitely recommend this set up. You will be pleasantly surprised.
